Visiting Chester

This group ensures that our heritage, marketing and the visitor economy is world class.

Building on the success of the cross-city collective Destination Chester, this group curates and promotes the One City Plan brand and its associated communications strategy.

It will build and support a network of One City Plan champions, gathering and sharing data and intelligence on the economic performance of the city. It will be responsible for developing, coordinating and promoting a year-round programme of events and activity, ensuring the best possible pre and post arrival experience for visitors that embraces our sustainable future.

The Visiting elements of the One City Plan are overseen by Destination Chester the umbrella organisation representing the city’s visitor economy businesses and organisations.

Its task is to ensure that the city’s millions of visitors receive the best possible pre and post arrival experience. This requires having a clear evidence-based tourism strategy within the One City Plan that identifies the roles and responsibilities of each partner for the visitor economy to play its full part in Chester achieving its goals.
